Visions in Silver Final

This book ended in such a happy way and it made me feel actually good to finish the book. Not because I was sick of reading it because I’m glad I read it all and stuck through it no matter how much it annoyed me. Overall I wasn’t too happy with the story but around the whole market fight scene part of the story I really got into it and it all started to connect. This book ended with a cliffhanger but I expected that since there’s more books after. I am interested in this world and I want to read the whole series to see how things got to this point and what happens after this part in the story. There are still unanswered questions and parts of plots that aren’t fully finished and I want to read the other books to find them all out and see where this leads everything. “She stood in one of the photographs…” (474). When I read how Hope went outside for the first time I was glad she didn’t panic and he didn’t refuse to let her see the outside. This is a big step for her to see photos and ...

Vision in Silver Part 3

This part of the story is really starting to pick up. The start of it is intense with Meg falling and cutting her knee and speaking visions. They then learn that Simon is in trouble and the apartments will be robbed, this is where the action begins. It made me so mad reading the whole fight scene with Simon and the HFL movement. I wanted Simon and everyone to just kill them all and come out with everyone ok. Sadly 2 had to die in the fight but Simon still risked his life saving as many as he could. “Simon hesitated. Nathan was a Wolf, one of his own. Nathan needed him. But as the Courtyard’s leader, his pack included Crows and Grizzlies and vampires… and even a few humans” (380). When Simon made the heroic act of going back and fighting off the humans instead of running away and thinking about himself he thought about the humans too. It made me appreciate Simon more and like him more as a character in the book that he would risk his life like that. My favorite part about this section...

Vision in Silver Part 2

I still feel like i’m having trouble connecting all the parts of the book together and reading and understanding the book fully. This part of the book is interesting now but I feel like the plot and story is moving pretty slow, maybe it’s just me having a hard time really grasping this book. The part where Lizzy wanted to ride the ponies and it drove Meg to her breaking point was crazy to me. I imagined a parent who was annoyed of their kid wanting something and begging and crying and would do anything to make the kid stop whining “too much danger! I have to cut. I have to cut now .” (pg. 225) I just imagine what if a parent was so upset and annoyed of their kid but instead of hurting themselves like Meg does, they hurt the child and I was afraid where this part of the story was going to head with Nathan being there and talking about wanting to bite someone and the smell of the sweet blood. On page 300 when Simon’s relationship is questioned if it’s an experiment or not really stuck ...

Visions in Silver Introduction

Visions in silver is not my favorite so far out of all the books we’ve read so far. It seems like a longer read and there’s a lot of confusing things going on in the story. You have to keep track of all the characters and interactions and everything going on behind the scenes as well. It’s not a bad book but it is long and being the third one, I don’t know if i'm missing much information but it feels like there is a lot more background knowledge I could have before jumping into this one. The story so far is really nice, I like the kinds of characters like the blood prophets, Others, humans, and anything in between. It has many diverse characters and they all interact with everything in the world differently. The author has made up this world in her head and we are diving into it and seeing and listening to the story she is creating and she does a good job and describing and really painting the picture in your head of everything that is going on. “If the Others find you, they’ll k...

Heroin Diaries: Final Thoughts

Finishing the Heroin Diaries was kind of sad but also a nice resolution. To finally hear how he quit drugs was sad the way he had to find out he wanted to get clean. But it was nice to see that he was finally getting clean and became happier and was turning his life around for the better. “One last thing...I might as well admit now. I’m done with drugs.” (pg. 390). Reading this part made me happy to see that he is done with drugs and he is changing after finally seeing what it is done to him. Sadly later on you see again that he does do drugs and doesn’t go to rehab but he does in the end quit drugs completely. The part where he is in the Japan tour is crazy. He just goes down the deep end doing so many drugs, drinking and just being stupid. He got arrested and got his manager arrested for doing stupid things. He got all his friends pissed at him and everybody was just embarrassed to be around him and to have him there. He then talks about doing stupid things like missing the flight...

Heroin Diaries Part 2

In this half of the Heroin Diaries you start to read more and more about how he is depressed during the tour. You hear about how sad he is and how he gets bored. So sadly he starts to get into drugs again. It made me sad to hear how he was back to all the coke and small amounts of heavy drugs making himself more sick and sad. You keep hearing how he is pushing himself through concerts and I keep thinking that he’s going to kill himself with all these drugs and alcohol and pills. He’s pushing himself so far it makes him sick and his body is becoming weaker and he is becoming more depressed. But you also see that he is starting to miss his old life more so I’m hoping that helps him get off drugs because he is seeing that he is not who he wants to be anymore. “I can't believe I did freebase again.” (pg. 278). He is starting to realize that doing the drugs and the tours and all the alcohol is starting to kill him and he needs to stop. He starts to see how he is insane and is addict...

Heroin Diaries 56-163

After reading the beginning of The Heroin Diaries I am really interested in the book and Nikki Sixx’s story. I have listen to the soundtrack for the book and it is great to listen to while you ready, the song “Life is Beautiful” by Sixx A.M. is my favorite song to listen to. Learning more about Nikki’s life when he was on drugs and how he lived his everyday life keeps getting more sad and depressing, but it is very interesting to see what he thinks and how he feels. The part of the story where he is trying to stay clean for 2 weeks even when surrounded by bad influences is a nice thing to hear about, how he is trying to get clean and fix his ways. But since that the story is yet to be over, I think that there will be more problems in the future and he won’t stay clean, but I think we’ve yet to reach a real climax of the story yet, some big turning point is yet to come. Reading the effects of the drugs on Nikki in the story really draws a clear picture of what they do to you, he doesn...
