Heroin Diaries 56-163
After reading the beginning of The Heroin Diaries I am really interested in the book and Nikki Sixx’s story. I have listen to the soundtrack for the book and it is great to listen to while you ready, the song “Life is Beautiful” by Sixx A.M. is my favorite song to listen to. Learning more about Nikki’s life when he was on drugs and how he lived his everyday life keeps getting more sad and depressing, but it is very interesting to see what he thinks and how he feels. The part of the story where he is trying to stay clean for 2 weeks even when surrounded by bad influences is a nice thing to hear about, how he is trying to get clean and fix his ways. But since that the story is yet to be over, I think that there will be more problems in the future and he won’t stay clean, but I think we’ve yet to reach a real climax of the story yet, some big turning point is yet to come. Reading the effects of the drugs on Nikki in the story really draws a clear picture of what they do to you, he doesn’t shower anymore, "1. Why shower if you'll just get dirty again." (Pg. 104), he lost tons of weight and he is too lazy to clean his house and take care of himself. Other people realize they need to help Nikki and people are trying to, he just isn’t letting them, but some people don’t care if he dies or not even if they call him a friend and they blame him for the drugs he does and what addictions he has gained.
We are around the middle of the book, and he has already kicked heroin? There is way too much book left for his heroin adventures to end. However, it sounds like he does some serious cocaine. The rest of the book may be him kicking coke too. I really enjoy Sixx:AM, "Life is beautiful" is easily one of my favorite songs by them. You have me wondering, Given the fact that this is his diary, I wonder if there would necessarily be a climax or a turning point in the book. It's not the most formal of books, and Nikki Sixx isn't know to follow rules anyway, haha.
ReplyDeleteI am also super interested in this book and where it is going to go next. Nikki`s story is incredible and something that is very hard to grasp, but I feel that the way he put his words into the text of the book makes it a bit easier. I have not listened to the sounds track yet, that is something I want to start listening to the tracks when reading through the turn. I definitely think this book is about to drop a few more bombs in our next few reading sections. Unfortunately I think there is no way hes kicking any drugs for a substantial amount of time based on where we are at now, there are just to many ways to slip up.
